NAIOP Massachusetts represents the commercial real estate industry through its strong legislative affairs efforts, exceptional educational programs and continual research into critical issues of business development. NAIOP is the leading voice for commercial real estate in the state and represents the interests of companies involved with the development, ownership, management and financing of commercial and retail properties as well as those companies providing services to this industry.
Our membership consists of over 1,200 members representing over 440 companies that own or manage more than 175 million square feet of office, research & development, industrial, and retail space in the Commonwealth. Established in 1978, NAIOP Massachusetts continues to grow as it advances responsible commercial real estate development and represents private property rights for the entire industry. NAIOP Massachusetts is a chapter of NAIOP, an international organization with over 18,000 members in 55 North American Chapters.

NAIOP participates on many task forces and working committees of the Executive and Legislative branches, suggesting practical areas to simplify the regulatory process, promote the privatization of certain governmental functions, and improve the economic competitiveness of the Commonwealth. At certain times, NAIOP has provided support for property rights through the court system by providing amici briefs and also drafts bills that promote those same issues through the legislative process.
NAIOP presents a variety of educational programs as well as opportunities to meet and network with colleagues in the real estate industry. Average attendance at NAIOP events is 300 or more professionals, with some special events drawing more than 1,000 people. A series of smaller events, along with members-only meetings, provide additional business development opportunities. NAIOP also collaborates with area universities to produce in-depth research papers on issues affecting real estate interests and economic development in the Commonwealth.“
