NAIOP Massachusetts represents the commercial real estate industry through its strong legislative affairs efforts, exceptional educational programs and continual research into critical issues of business development. NAIOP is the leading voice for commercial real estate in the state and represents the interests of companies involved with the development, ownership, management and financing of commercial and retail properties as well as those companies providing services to this industry.
Our membership consists of over 1,390 members representing over 500 companies that own or manage more than 175 million square feet of office, research & development, industrial, and retail space in the Commonwealth. Established in 1978, the Massachusetts Chapter continues to grow as it represents private property rights for the whole industry. NAIOP Massachusetts is a part of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), a national organization with over 16,500 members in 55 North American Chapters.

NAIOP participates on many task forces and working committees of the Executive and Legislative branches suggesting practical areas to simplify the regulatory process, promote the privatization of certain governmental functions, and improve the economic competitiveness of the Commonwealth. At certain times, NAIOP has provided support for property rights through the court system by providing amici briefs. NAIOP also drafts bills that promote those same issues through the legislative process.
NAIOP presents a variety of educational programs as well as opportunities to meet and network with colleagues in the real estate industry. NAIOP also produces in-depth research papers. Previous titles include: “Boston Tomorrow: A Blueprint for Economic Development”, “Biotechnology Industry Needs in the 90’s”, and “No Net Loss of Wetlands: Is Massachusetts There?” NAIOP also continues to sponsor the annual Mass Insight “Massachusetts Expansion Report”, has published two editions of the Massachusetts Industrial and Research Park Directory in coopertation with the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development, and publishes the annual NAIOP Massachusetts magazine/directory: “
