Click Here For: Gold Gavel Members & Silver Gavel Members
Over the last several years, the Massachusetts chapter of NAIOP has brought together its diverse members by focusing their individual concerns onto common goals. As a result, NAIOP has developed into a successful lobbyist for property owners' rights in the regulatory and legislative areas.

NAIOP cannot fund the costs to provide this essential service through the limited revenues generated by its annual local membership dues and program revenues. To keep NAIOP in the forefront of the political debate, we established "Gold and Silver Gavel Membership" designations.

Gavel members consist of a select group of the area's leading real estate companies and those associate firms that service the real estate industry in the areas of law, engineering, design, construction, and finance.

Through a strategic, coordinated effort which utilizes Gold and Silver Gavel funds and the chapter's Political Action Committee, NAIOP is effectively leveraging the influence of the entire industry in the Legislature and the Executive Branches of state government. While each fund is used for a different purpose (PAC funds are used for political donations exclusively) the purposes are intended to achieve the same end - to promote and protect the commercial real estate industry.

NAIOP has successfully established itself as the commercial real estate industry's voice by reacting aggressively to adverse regulations and legislation and promoting it's views by drafting new legislation, negotiating regulations at the draft stage, and working with the governor's office to develop new policies to promote business growth.

Gavel Members meet quarterly to discuss the direction and policies of NAIOP's Legislative agenda to discuss critical areas of concern to their businesses. These exclusive meetings are designed to inform and to provide members an opportunity to meet with other leaders in the industry. Gavel members also have direct access to NAIOP's lobbyist and receive early briefings on upcoming policy/regulatory changes.
