Research Activities:
- Published "The Rebirth of Older Industrial Cities: Exciting Opportunities for Private Sector Investment" jointly with Northeastern University's Center for Urban and Regional Policy, a paper identifying innovative approaches to attract development to inner city communities.
- Published the second issue of the Massachusetts Industrial and Research Park Directory along with the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development.
- Member of the Board of the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development, assisting in the development of the Site Finder Service, a statewide database that catalogs all commercial land, industrial and R&D space.
- Published proceedings book and action plan from the NAIOP sponsored "Boston Tomorrow Conference", that brought business and community leaders throughout the city together with the Mayor.
- Published "Biotechnology Industry Needs in the 1990's" jointly with the Forest City Development, a paper studying the alternatives available to the Commonwealth to promote the growth of emerging technologies and the incentives necessary to keep them in Massachusetts.
- Activated a "Credit Crisis" committee studying the problems of access to credit for real estate "roll over" financing and loans and credit lines to small and midsize businesses in the region. Published position papers detailing problems and solutions, and lobbied state and federal officials for assistance.
- Prepared and published "No Net Loss of Wetlands- Is Massachusetts There?", a research paper that determined from DEP data that regulated permits have achieved a "no net loss" of wetlands and disputes the DEP's assertion of an annual loss of 1,000 acres. As a result of this paper, DEP agreed to establish a data collection procedures to better track the loss and replication of wetlands.
- Created the "NAIOP Growth Principles" as a statement of our Chapter's stand on ownership and development rights.
- Published NAIOP Projects Under Development magazine.
- Publication of the NAIOP report: Projecting Massachusetts Growth: An Analysis of Existing State Methodology and Recommendations for its Improved Effectiveness
