A partner in W/S Development Associates LLC, and chief operating officer of its affiliate, S.R. Weiner and Associates, Mr. DeSimone is actively involved in management performance, leasing, development, project finance, marketing and public relations. A respected veteran of Boston’s retail market, he brings a unique perspective to this vital, yet often misunderstood sector.

W/S Development is one of the largest privately owned retail development firms in the country, with more than 80 properties in six states, totaling over 16 million square feet of retail space, with an additional nine million square feet under development. One of those projects is Legacy Place, a 675,000-square-foot open-air shopping destination with more than 60 of the nation’s leading fashion, restaurant and entertainment tenants, located at the intersection of Route 1 and I-95 in Dedham, Massachusetts.

Thomas J. DeSimone, Partner, W/S Development Associates LLC
Mr. DeSimone is a partner in W/S Development Associates LLC. As such, he is involved in management performance, leasing, development, project finance, marketing and public relations. He is also the chief operating officer of S.R. Weiner and Associates, an affiliate of the company.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. DeSimone served as Vice President in the Real Estate Production Group of The Boston Real Estate Counsel, Inc., a subsidiary of The Boston Company. While at The Boston Company, he established an asset management function and served as the Chairman of The Real Estate Counsel's strategic planning committee.

Mr. DeSimone graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in mathematics. He earned his Masters in accounting from the Northeastern Graduate School of Professional Accounting. In addition to his diverse duties at the companies, he is active in the New England business community. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute and on the Board of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. His community activities include service as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, MA, a board member of Community Resource for Justice in Boston, MA, a board member of the Greater Boston Legal Services. He is also a member of the finance committee of the Kenneth G. Schwartz Center.
