Government Affairs Overview
NAIOP works to simplify the regulatory process, protect private property rights, and improve the economic competitiveness of the Commonwealth. NAIOP fights to ensure that the commercial real estate industryís issues are understood by leading policymakers.
The following are just a few examples of how NAIOP works to serve its members:
Significant input and influence on a wide range of regulations.
Legislative advocacy benefiting the industry.
Support for critical environmental and land use cases in the courts through amicus briefs.
NAIOPís advocacy saves property owners from the effects of legislative and regulatory requirements devastating to the industry, as well as thousands of dollars in professional fees and lobbying costs, had companies hired consultants to individually advocate on their behalf. It is clear that one voice is stronger and more cost effective than multiple voices and NAIOP has firmly established itself as the successful voice for the real estate industry.
To learn more about NAIOPís Government Affairs activities, members are invited to join one or more of the Chapterís three government affairs committees:
Energy & Infrastructure
These committees provide members with a unique opportunity to shape the laws and policies affecting real estate and economic growth in Massachusetts. For more information, contact Tamara Small at (781) 453-6900 ext. 5.
