Membership and Marketing CommitteeBuild Greater Boston’s Premier Forum for Commercial Real Estate Professionals
Offering direct contact with the top decision makers in the Massachusetts real estate community, this committee offers a terrific networking opportunity. Whether you join a special outreach task force, welcome new members, or get involved in creative initiatives to promote membership, sponsorships and event attendance you will build your own business contacts while growing NAIOP.

Program Committee – Create Cutting-Edge Programs for NAIOP Members
Continue building NAIOP’s proud history of providing cutting-edge and relevant programs tailored specifically for Boston’s real estate professionals. Your creative thinking and contacts ensure members are challenged and inspired by a wide-range of NAIOP programs including our signature Main Event series and the annual Business Conference.

Education Committee – Ensure Real Estate Professionals Stay Current in a Constantly Changing Industry
Knowledge is necessary - especially in the constantly changing world of commercial real estate. Your knowledge of current trends in the industry will help craft in-depth Educational Seminars and cutting edge Building Block programs.

Special Events Committee – Mix Business with Pleasure
Help plan and implement NAIOP’s special events including the signature annual Distinguished Real Estate Awards Gala, which publicly recognizes a deserving company for its significant contributions to the commercial real estate industry.

Charitable Events Committee – Support NAIOP’s Commitment to the Community
Take an active role in providing members with the opportunity to demonstrate NAIOP’s commitment to the community. The Charitable Events Committee’s premier event is the Annual NAIOP Golf Classic, a fabulous day on the links benefiting Heading Home; other events include a Community Service Day and several donation drives throughout the year.

Bus Tour Committee – Design the Commercial Real Estate Market Tour of the Year
A nationally-attended event, the NAIOP bus tour provides the real estate community with a unique opportunity to learn about the latest deals and view the latest real estate developments in Greater Boston and surrounding suburbs. Help design the tour and all associated events and publications.

Developing Leaders – Plan Programs and Events for Commercial Real Estate Professionals Ages 35 and Younger
If you are 35 or younger, join your peers on this fun and friendly committee that plans a variety of educational, networking, and social events tailored to the unique needs and interests of younger professionals. This is an excellent way to get involved in NAIOP and to prepare for other leadership roles – both within and outside the Chapter – all while building your network!

Government Affairs Committees – Help Draft and Monitor NAIOP’s Public Affairs Agenda
Members of NAIOP’s Government Affairs Committees actively shape laws and policies affecting the commercial real estate industry. Your knowledge and interest in regulatory and legislative issues will influence NAIOP’s government affairs agenda and contribute to white papers and special events on critical topics affecting real estate development in Massachusetts. The Chapter maintains three Government Affairs Committees:

  • Environmental Committee: Members of this committee frequently provide comments on environmental regulations or legislation affecting commercial real estate including water issues, endangered species, and wetlands. They are often invited to represent NAIOP on issue specific working groups convened by DEP. Meetings are held on a monthly basis.
  • Energy & Infrastructure Committee: This committee focuses on a wide range of issues including transportation, infrastructure financing, tax issues, and energy. Meetings are held every other month.
  • Hazardous Waste (21E) Committee: This committee works on issues affecting the redevelopment of brownfield sites in Massachusetts. Committee members have shaped indoor air policies and revisions to the MCP. They frequently participate on task forces created by DEP. Meetings are held on a monthly basis.
